Whydeck puts a small AI interviewer into your product. It asks the one question you care about, follows up on what each person actually says, and turns the conversations into themes and actions you can work from.
How it works
Four steps, and only the third one happens outside this app.
- 01
Write a study
A study is one question you want answered — what you want to learn, where you are asking, and how the conversation opens. You write the opening; the AI writes every follow-up. - 02
Embed the widget
Each study gets a snippet: one script tag, plus a placeholder div if you want the launcher sitting in the page rather than pinned to the edge of the screen. - 03
Your visitors get interviewed
Someone taps the launcher, answers the opening question, and the AI digs into the why — up to the follow-up budget you set, less if the person clearly has nothing more to say. Each conversation is saved as a response. - 04
Read the insights
Once answers pile up, generate an analysis: a summary with sentiment, the themes that keep recurring, prioritized actions, and the questions worth asking next.
The words we use
- One interview: its goal, its opening question, its widget, and every response it has collected. Most teams run one per page or per feature they are curious about.
- One visitor’s conversation. A response is counted as written once the person has typed at least one answer.
- The optional thumbs or 1–4 tap that can open a study. Someone who rates and leaves without typing counts as a rating, not a written response.
- An AI report over a study’s responses, saved as a snapshot. Run it again whenever new answers come in; older versions stay.
- The
pk_…value in your embed snippet. It identifies the study to the widget and is safe to put in public page source. - The workspace your studies live in. Invite colleagues to an organization and you all see the same studies and responses.
Start here
If you are setting up for the first time, the quickstart is the short path. The rest is reference — look up the page that matches whatever you are staring at.
Quickstart
Your first study, embedded and collecting answers.
Writing a study
Every setting in the editor, and what the AI does with it.
Embedding the widget
Both snippets, every option, and what to check when nothing appears.
Reading responses
What counts as a response, filtering, transcripts, exports.
AI insights
Generating an analysis and reading what comes back.
Team & account
Organizations, invitations, roles, and your own account.
What you need before you start
- An account — email and password, or your Google account.
- A page you can paste a script tag into. Any site works: a marketing page, an app screen, a help centre, a checkout confirmation.
- One thing you genuinely want to know. Studies with a vague goal produce vague follow-ups.
No visitor accounts needed
The people you interview never sign in, and are never asked for a name, an email or any other detail — a response is the conversation and nothing else. Only your team needs an account.
