Team & account

Studies belong to an organization, not to a person. Invite the people you work with and you all see the same studies, responses and analyses.

Organizations

Sign up on your own and you get one automatically; if you are working alone you can happily ignore it, because it stays invisible. (Sign up from a colleague’s invitation and you join theirs instead.) It becomes visible the moment you belong to more than one, when a switcher appears in the header. Whichever organization is selected is the one your dashboard and any new study belong to.

Create another whenever you need a genuine separation — a different client, a different product, a different team. Studies do not move between organizations, so put a study where its audience belongs from the start.

Inviting people

On the Organization page, owners can invite by email address. What happens next depends on whether that person already has an account:

  • They already have one. The invitation appears on their dashboard next time they sign in, to accept or decline.
  • They do not. They sign up through the invite link and join straight away — no email confirmation code, since the invitation already proves the address.

Pending invitations are listed on the Organization page, and an owner can revoke one at any time before it is accepted.

Invitation emails

Whether an invitation is emailed depends on how your Whydeck instance is configured. Either way the invitation is waiting in the app — if a colleague says nothing arrived, ask them to sign in and look at their dashboard.

Roles

Owner
Can do everything a member can, plus rename the organization, invite and remove people, transfer ownership, and delete the organization.
Member
Full access to the work itself — create, edit, end and delete studies, read responses, generate analyses. No control over the organization or its people.

An organization always has at least one owner. The last owner cannot leave or be removed — transfer ownership first, or delete the organization outright.

Leaving and deleting

  • Remove a member revokes their access immediately. Studies they created stay with the organization.
  • Transfer ownership hands the owner role to another member. You stay on as a member.
  • Leave organization is available to members, and to owners once someone else owns it.
  • Delete organization is permanent and takes every study, response and analysis in it. Download anything you need first.

Your account

The profile page holds your display name — what colleagues see on the members list — and your avatar, which is resized in your browser before upload so a photo straight off a phone is fine.

You can sign in with an email and password, or with Google. Password signups confirm the address with a six-digit code, and a forgotten password is reset the same way: request a code, enter it, choose a new password.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account is permanent and immediate. If you are the last owner of an organization that other people use, transfer ownership first — otherwise their work goes with you.

Where to next

That is the whole product. If something here did not answer your question, the overview maps every page in these docs.
